In simple words we may say that when the red blood cells face destruction in an early phase, it causes hemolytic anemia. These factors can not only be acquired but also inherited from our forefathers. From another angle we may witness that hemolytic anemia is an anemia due to hemolysis, the abnormal breakdown of red blood cells either in the blood vessels or elsewhere in the body that causes hemolytic anemia.
There are numerous possibilities that cause hemolytic anemia, ranging from relatively harmless to life-threatening. But the general classification of hemolytic anemia is either inherited or acquired. The early destruction of cells generally occurs in the spleen or the bloodstream. Most kinds and causes of hemolytic anemia are equally frequent in men and women and moreover it can develop at any stage of life.
Inherited Hemolytic Anemia:
From the word inherited it’s vivid that it deals with the problem of genes, which are responsible for the production of red blood cells. People with an inherited hemolytic anemia receive defective red blood cell genes from either one or both of their parents. And ultimately this becomes one of the major causes of hemolytic anemia from inheritance. Various types of defective genes give a way to certain classifications of inherited hemolytic anemias. There may be any of the types of inherited hemolytic anemias, but one thing is common in them, that during this problem the production of red blood cells is absolutely abnormal.
Acquired Hemolytic Anemia:
In the case of acquired type of hemolytic anemia, no doubt the growth of red blood cells is perfectly normal in the embryonic stage, but these cells are prematurely destroyed due to some disease. An immune disorder or a reaction to a particular medicine can be the chief causes of hemolytic anemia in this category.
